About
Our involvement with space research started with the Auckland Programme for Space Systems (APSS). Initially launched as an undergraduate programme, the APSS eventually developed into an avenue to bring together students and academics throughout the University with a common general interest. Over the past few years, we have engaged with experts worldwide who are interested in both the undergraduate programme, and longer-term postgraduate and advanced-level research.
Now, we are working towards a nationally-focused Space Systems Institute to coalesce academic expertise in space systems, and to connect academic researchers with industry, eventually contributing to the advancement of New Zealand’s space research development.
