Our involvement with space research started with the Auckland Programme for Space Systems (APSS)
. Initially launched as an undergraduate programme, the APSS eventually developed into an avenue to bring together students and academics throughout the University with a common general interest. Over the past few years, we have engaged with experts worldwide who are interested in both the undergraduate programme, and longer-term postgraduate and advanced-level research.
Now, we are working towards a nationally-focused Space Systems Institute to coalesce academic expertise in space systems, and to connect academic researchers with industry, eventually contributing to the advancement of New Zealand’s space research development.
